High School Senior Portraits

I don’t photograph senior photo sessions all that often, but when I do… I NAIL IT. And it just so happens to help that Emma is my eldest niece.

Isn’t she STUNNING?!?! Not only did she take direction well, but my oh my she’s photogenic. Obviously I told her parents that they basically have a model for a daughter.

Fun fact: I had no idea that a graduation cap is formally known as a ‘mortarboard’. So if you didn’t know, now you do!

Oh, and did I mention she’s an extremely talented dancer?! And that she powered through some of these incredible moves EN POINTE… repeatedly… wait for it: in 90+ degree heat. I say that we pulled off effortless-looking portraits, amiright?! Just goes to show that you can do whatever you put your mind to.

Emma, you are by far one of the smartest young women I’ve ever met- I cannot wait to see what your ambition and hard-work brings you in the future!

in her words

Top School Prospects:

Case Western Reserve, University of Louisville, and University of Cincinnati

How would you describe yourself?

I would describe myself as an introverted extrovert. I love to interact with people but also value time to recharge. I am very hands on and technical, but enjoy getting to express myself through dance and music.

Celebrity crush?

Always Tom Holland

If you had a song play every time you walk into a room, what would it be?

Rise Up by Andra Day

Fave item you couldn’t live without?

My baby blanket

Favorite motto/quote, and why?

My favorite motto is “she believed she could and she did”. I love it because it embodies how I strive to live my life; knowing that believing in yourself leads to happiness and success.

Tell me about your outfit choices you picked, and why?

I am currently obsessed with short summer dresses, so I had to include one in my senior picture. You actually pieced together my last outfit with me and it ended up being my favorite out of the three!

What was your priority when selecting your shoot locations, and why?

I love when people are photographed in front of concrete buildings I think it makes the person pop and I wanted to incorporate something like that into my locations.

Describe 3 ways you have changed since your freshman year.

I have become much more comfortable with myself and speaking up, I have overcome a lifetime of anxiety, and I have gotten closer than ever with my family.

Of which of your accomplishments are you most proud of, and why?

I am most proud of my black belt in taekwondo. That chapter of my life is now closed but I think that earning that belt really showed me that hard work pays off.

Any Advice for rising freshman?

Don’t be afraid to try new things just because you are afraid what others will say or think.

She believed she could, so she did

OUT OF EVERYONE YOU COULD HAVE PICKED, WHY WERE YOU DRAWN TO WORK WITH ME?

You were my first choice of course because you are so welcoming and know exactly what you are doing. You tell me how to position my body exactly and I love that because it makes me feel very comfortable.

WHICH IMAGE TAKEN DURING OUR SESSION IS YOUR FAVORITE + WHY?

I love the image of me with the green leo and jeans where I am kneeling down. I feel so confident when I look at that picture.

IF YOU WERE TO RECOMMEND ME TO YOUR BESTIE, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

She is the absolute best. She takes amazing care and time to make sure that you are happy with the outcome.

WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR BEFORE HIRING ME? DID IT COME TRUE, AND IF NOT, WHAT HAPPENED INSTEAD?

My biggest fear was that I wouldn’t like how I looked. I struggle with that sometimes but that definitely did not come true. A smile comes to my face every time I look at those pictures. You made me feel so self-confident.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO SHARE?

You were absolutely amazing and made me feel so safe and confident during the shoot.
