It only seemed to appropriate to share this special maternity session on Memorial Day. This amazing mama-to-be married a very hard-working B-52 pilot in our United States Air Force. NBD, y’all. They are the type of people who would never brag about it, so I’m doing the honor. (As a daughter of a US Navy Veteran, I hold a special place in my heart for our military. I saw the sacrifice(s) first-hand of what it takes to be a military mommy from my own mother’s perspective.) I’m so excited to announce that they’re expecting TWINS (dizygotic boy/girl twins to be specific- meaning there’s two different placentas in there)! They booked a spur-of-the-moment trip back to Chicago during one of the last few weeks she’s cleared to travel. Some of our other girlfriends happened to be in town too, so we planned a little reunion. And a surprise baby shower. AAAND of course, this quick and fun maternity session in Lincoln Park (also one of their favorite spots in the city).
So here’s a big shout-out to those who have served in our United States military, and thanking those who continue to serve for us (AND their families!!!).

Glad you made it all the way down to the end of this post… because this is one of my all-time FAVORITE images!!! That tight squeeze by her strong military man and her smile- you just can’t manufacture this and all of those feeeeeelings! I can’t wait for them to share this moment captured to their future little son + daughter. 🙂
