Oh, this one is extra special to me. It’s because it’s one of my dear friends! She has beautiful boy/girl twins, just over a year old (and just a bit older than my own son), and one of the sweetest husbands I’ve ever met. All in all, a gorgeous family both inside and out! We wanted to do a family session to feature our (short-lived) warm Chicago summers and our city skyline. Because….they’re selling their gorgeous condo in North Center to relocate to a gorgeous new home Deerfield! Ahh.. it’s bittersweet because I’ll miss seeing them in the city, but super excited for them to have more real estate for their family to enjoy and create new memories in.
So a little about my mental process with all of my sessions: I work hard at trying to capturing moments that show a bit of family intimacy in my images. Showing realistic connections and togetherness in my images. These things may seem so minute and insignificant at the time, but they’re so important to me personally. And these are the moments that I often reflect back on at the end of a long day or week, wishing I had more time spent with my kids who are already fast asleep. I selfishly want more of this, so it’s my personal mission to create works of my client friends would be proud to display on their walls. In this instance, the formula included: pretty clouds, blue skies, wind + movement, family connections, and adorable kiddos!
