When Stephanie reached out to me earlier this year, her family session request caught my attention. It wasn’t my typical inquiry received because it didn’t involve a family session with a newborn or little children. Her session priority was to capture a lifestyle feel of organic, candid moments with her grandmother. You see, they recently lost their grandfather, and she wanted to maintain a bit of permanence. She requested images to reflect the home her family grew up in, the nostalgia of heirloom furniture passed down the generations, the vintage albums of photographs her family invested in over the years, and most importantly, a few precious family moments with some of her favorite humans.
I couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to have the opportunity to preserve this family’s history. Spending an intimate summer evening getting to know these three great women was absolutely priceless. XOXO
After reminiscing over old memories, we headed outside to enjoy the summer evening and some homemade lemonade.
Three generations.
P.S. Have you seen the new Macklemore GLORIOUS music video with his grandmother Helen? They celebrate her 100th birthday doing whatever the hell she wanted and it gives me alllllll the feels! I tend to tear up in the last scene every time I watch it. After his song debuted, he wrote:
‘Grandma – nothing is more Glorious than you, Happy 100th. Thank you for the Werthers Originals. The advice. And for being a part of something that I’ll treasure forever. Love Ben.‘
